Established in 1973, the Junior Sedan Racing Association seeks to provide young and up and coming junior sedan drivers the relevant skills, opportunities and development courses to enable them to gain the relevant knowledge to succeed both on and off the track.

Situated in Perth, and home to many of the metropolitan drivers, the JSRA Juniors provide some of the fastest and closest driving in the state.   With precision, control and skill, these drivers compete for overall honours in the annual Heathway 'Smarter than Smoking' Series held at the premier speedway track in Australia, the Perth Motorplex. Along side this is the Healthway 'Smarter than Smoking' Country Challenge, a travelling contingent of drivers competing at country tracks around the state. The JSRAWA also instituted the Australia vs. New Zealand Challenge that gives young drivers the opportunity to compete internationally. The challenge is held annually and alternates between the two countries.

Publicity opportunities are available to the young members range from radio interviews, local newspapers and national speedway magazines.   These are used to strengthen the growing junior sedan community in WA as well as the individual driver, through a growing confidence in public speaking and interaction, along with the skills necessary to become a successful senior driver when they graduate at the end of their junior career.

Anyone can join the sport between the ages of ten and seventeen, strengthening the virtue of acceptance within the Junior Sedan community. Typically 'motorsport' is a word associated with males, but the young girls out there are just as competitive as the boys. This enables equality in a positive environment for these individuals to grow into skilled, strong and smart drivers, ready to take on the challenges of senior driving and ultimately the continuation of the motorsport speedway in Western Australia.
