JSRA WA AWARDS NIGHT

SEASON 2008/2009

 

The JSRA WA Awards Night was held at the Ridleys Function Centre on Saturday 9th May 2009. The well attended evening marked the conclusion of the 12th Annual Healthway Smarter than Smoking Series at the jewel of Australian Speedway – Perth Motorplex Kwinana Beach.

 

This season the main objective of the JSRA WA was building on nomination of drivers for the division and to set strategies to facilitate a close and hard contested competition over We were encouraged by the attitude and determination of all our drivers in guaranteeing a successful season indeed.

 

Canning Vale teenager Scott Elst  took off  a swag of awards to mark the end of the season at Perth Motorplex. The sixteen year old apprentice mechanic, racing in only his third year in Junior Sedans put in a strong performance throughout the season to take top honours for the JSRA WA and Perth Motorplex. Scott has one more year left in Juniors and then hopes to go on to be a Sprintcar driver.

Achievements: Perth Motorplex Junior Sedan Track Champion Division A -Top Stars 08/09; Junior Speedway Racing Association of WA Club Awards Division A -Top Stars Healthway Smarter than Smoking Series Champion 08/09; Ray Tulk Medal for the Top Star Fairest and Best; Drivers Driver 08/09 (voted by drivers).

Continuing to work through its Education and Development Program the Junior Speedway Racing Association of WA aim to create a pathway to advance, encourage and provide young up and coming drivers with an opportunity to develop their skills to improve their level of performance. We also promoted the Healthway message that supports the personal health and wellbeing of our drivers.

 

The JSRA offers access to the highest technical assistance and expertise in the country with the purpose of raising standards in car performance and race craft. A high expectation is also set for personal presentation and behaviour and the encouragement of a professional attitude and personal growth, both on and off the track.
